Welcome back to the exciting world of the Toshba! Over the course of this year, we will delve into the rabbinic mind. We will be using the chapter “Arvei Pesachim” from Misechet Pesachim along with various other rabbinic texts related to the holidays in order to do so. This class will be about honing our analytic mind as well as building upon our Jewish knowledge base around specific Jewish traditions. The study of the Talmud is complex and challenging. It is a form of thought that goes back thousands of years and includes such genres as stories, philosophy, law, Biblical interpretation and more. We will be learning to approach each of these areas of thought as they are encompassed within the Talmud.

This Wiki will be a space for class resources as well as enabling student driven content generation. My hope is that similar to the layout of a page of Talmud that evolves through time with commentaries speaking to each other across the page, this Wiki will serve as a similar platform for engaging debate and thought provoking conversation.
